Title: The Guardians Pdf A Novel
John Grisham delivers a classic legal thriller–-with a twist.

In the small Florida town of Seabrook, a young lawyer named Keith Russo was shot dead at his desk as he worked late one night. The killer left no clues. There were no witnesses, no one with a motive. But the police soon came to suspect Quincy Miller, a young black man who was once a client of Russo’s.

Quincy was tried, convicted, and sent to prison for life. For twenty-two years he languished in prison, maintaining his innocence.  But no one was listening.  He had no lawyer, no advocate on the outside. In desperation, he writes a letter to Guardian Ministries, a small nonprofit run by Cullen Post, a lawyer who is also an Episcopal minister.

Guardian accepts only a few innocence cases at a time.  Cullen Post travels the country fighting wrongful convictions and taking on clients forgotten by the system. With Quincy Miller, though, he gets far more than he bargained for. Powerful, ruthless people murdered Keith Russo, and they do not want Quincy Miller exonerated.

They killed one lawyer twenty-two years ago, and they will kill another without a second thought.

Speak with No Fear Free Pdf

ISBN: B07V2NXLXT
Title: Speak with No Fear Pdf Go from a Nervous, Nauseated, and Sweaty Speaker to an Excited, Energized, and Passionate Presenter

Do you HATE public speaking? Are you TERRIFIED to stand in front of people? When you think of speaking, do you get nervous, anxious, even sweaty? You don't have to be afraid any longer.

It can seem like everyone is a gifted speak when you watch TED talks or compare yourself to skilled co-workers giving presentations. Don't get caught up in comparison. Instead, take action to improve YOUR ability and to overcome your fear.

If you struggle when you speak, then you are not alone. Public speaking is the number one fear in America.

Millions of people are terrified at the prospect of going up on stage and addressing a crowd even more than they're afraid of death. And yet, it's an unavoidable experience if you want to succeed in this world.

Maybe it's a business presentation for your career path, a speech in school, or a toast at your best friend's wedding. Fear of speaking grips you. But it doesn't have to. Not anymore.

This book can help you. You will learn seven strategies you can begin today. These strategies will give you a new perspective. This book will prepare you and give you actions to practice. As you implement these strategies, your fear will begin to fade.

Full of relatable anecdotes, executable tips, and plenty of laugh-out-loud moments, this book promises to teach you seven proven strategies to help you find your inner presenter. Don't wait any longer. Today is the day you take charge of your anxiety, calm your nerves, and - most importantly - speak with no fear.

Should be on everyone's bookshelf I have read so many books on the subject of public speaking & find "Speak With No Fear" by Mike Acker, a refreshing one to read.Mike starts by reassuring us that we are not alone in our fear of public speaking. This kind of fear and doubt can be debilitating. You should also remain true to yourself and not try to be someone else during speaking events. There is a ridiculously silly & funny video clip link embedded in the book that illustrates this point quite well.Mike then presents seven strategies to help the reader get over the fear of speaking. He weaves in stories and anecdotes drawn from his own experience in the art of public speaking. He also adds beautiful quotes that can be extracted and used in the readers' daily lives. My favourite ones are Strategies #4 and #7. The one strategy helps the presenter to speak to large crowds. Big crowds can appear quite intimidating. The other one takes the reader through an intense preparatory process. Mike gives an example of how he drives his teams on the latter but also how he lets go after the process & expresses gratitude for work done. The book shows the value of investing in oneself. Mike also provides action lists at the end of each chapter and an address where the reader can reach him to get a free coaching session. It is an excellent book. I enjoyed reading it.

Brendan Gregg (Los Gatos, CA Area) is a senior performance engineer at Netflix and a major contributor to BPF (eBPF), leading its use for observability. He has spent 15 years using BPF and earlier tracers in production environments, has published widely about his work, and has taught performance analysis worldwide. He was primary author of DTrace: Dynamic Tracing in Oracle Solaris, Mac OS X, and FreeBSD, and author of the best-selling Systems Performance: Enterprise and the Cloud. For five years, he has been focused on BPF tracing. He has helped to develop and maintain the main BPF front-ends, bcc and bpftrace, for which he created reference guides, tutorials, and 70+ new BPF performance analysis tools, plus another 80 for this book.

BPF and related observability tools give software professionals unprecedented visibility into software, helping them analyze operating system and application performance, troubleshoot code, and strengthen security. BPF Performance Tools: Linux System and Application Observability is the industry’s most comprehensive guide to using these tools for observability. Brendan Gregg, author of the industry’s definitive guide to system performance, introduces powerful new methods and tools for doing analysis that leads to more robust, reliable, and safer code.

This authoritative guide:
  • Explores a wide spectrum of software and hardware targets
  • Thoroughly covers open source BPF tools from the Linux Foundation iovisor project’s bcc and bpftrace repositories
  • Summarizes performance engineering and kernel internals you need to understand
  • Provides and discusses 150+ bpftrace tools, including 80 written specifically for this book: tools you can run as-is, without programming — or customize and develop further, using diverse interfaces and the bpftrace front-end
You’ll learn how to use BPF (eBPF) tracing tools to analyze CPUs, memory, disks, file systems, networking, languages, applications, containers, hypervisors, security, and the Linux kernel. You’ll move from basic to advanced tools and techniques, producing new metrics, stack traces, custom latency histograms, and more. It’s like having a superpower: with Gregg’s guidance and tools, you can analyze virtually everything that impacts system performance, so you can improve virtually any Linux operating system or application.

A Mighty Long Way Download

ISBN: 0345511018
Title: A Mighty Long Way Pdf My Journey to Justice at Little Rock Central High School
Author: Carlotta Walls Lanier
Published Date: 2010-07
Page: 296

“This hindsight account suggests that the nation still has not achieved closure about the painful events at Little Rock….Keenly observed and moving.” —Kirkus Reviews “This is a marvelous book.  It is a personal account that describes a moving period in the transformative struggle for civil rights and social justice in America.  Above all, this story is an inspiration.  Through it all, Carlotta Lanier and her fellow students never gave up.  They never gave in.  They kept the faith and because of their dignity, their tenacity, and their sacrifice they helped to redeem the soul of America.” –Congressman John Lewis“Carlotta Walls LaNier’s memoir, A Mighty Long Way, is a searing and emotionally gripping account of a young black girl growing up to become a strong black woman during the most difficult time of racial segregation in Little Rock, Arkansas. The book is a page-turner and a tear-jerker, discussing the struggle and progress of an individual, and reflecting the historic challenges African Americans face in overcoming racial segregation. This book is a must read and should be required reading for every child of every race who may be trying to appreciate the values of education and the challenges that they might present for people who are different. We learn more about the struggles of the students of Central High School in Little Rock, Arkansas than is imagined, and it will change the way we evaluate the courage and dignity of people like Carlotta Walls LaNier.” –Professor Charles Ogletree, Harvard Law School“A half-century later, other young Americans draw their inspiration from Carlotta Walls.  I am proud that she continues to carry the torch in the struggle for civil rights and to share her story of individual and collective courage with America’s young people.  Through her experiences of fifty years ago until today, she continues to challenge Americans about the true meaning of equal access to education for all.” –Arkansas Governor Mike Beebe “Carlotta Walls LaNier was the youngest of the Little Rock 9 to cross the color lines, political barriers and cultural chasms that circumscribed her life. She, her family and friends paid a heavy price that burdened them even as it liberated all of us. Her memoir, which is really our memoir, provides a rare perspective on that history in the making.” – Hank Klibanoff, Pulitzer Prize winning co-author of The Race Beat: The Press, the Civil Rights Struggle, and the Awakening of the Nation“In A Mighty Long Way, this revered American and special friend boldly tells how her high school days have evolved as the central experience of her life.  I commend Carlotta for the legacy she has left and for the lessons she and her colleagues have taught us all with such nobility.”   – Nancy Rousseau, Principal, Little Rock Central High School (2002 — present)“Gripping…A moving, very personal account of the aftermath of the 1954 Brown decision that began the painful process of desegregation.—Booklist “There is a quiet majesty to A Mighty Long Way. The telling of this journey is imbued with sweep, tenderness, and the sustained glory of memory.” –Wil Haygood, author of In Black and White: The Life of Sammy Davis Jr. Carlotta Walls LaNier attended Michigan State University and graduated from Colorado State College–now the University of Northern Colorado, on whose board of trustees she sits. After working for the YWCA, she founded her own real estate brokerage firm, LaNier and Company. A sought-after lecturer, LaNier speaks across the country, and she has received the Congressional Medal of Honor and two honorary doctorate degrees. She is the mother of two children, Whitney and Brooke, and lives in Englewood, Colorado, with her husband, Ira.Lisa Frazier Page, an editor and award-winning reporter at The Washington Post, is the co-author of the New York Times bestseller The Pact: Three Young Men Make a Promise and Fulfill a Dream. A graduate of New Orleans’s Dillard University, Page holds a master’s degree from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism. She grew up in Bogalusa, Louisiana, and lives in the Washington, D.C., area with her husband. They have four children.

When fourteen-year-old Carlotta Walls walked up the stairs of Little Rock Central High School on September 25, 1957, she and eight other black students only wanted to make it to class. But the journey of the “Little Rock Nine,” as they came to be known, would lead the nation on an even longer and much more turbulent path, one that would challenge prevailing attitudes, break down barriers, and forever change the landscape of America.

For Carlotta and the eight other children, simply getting through the door of this admired academic institution involved angry mobs, racist elected officials, and intervention by President Dwight D. Eisenhower, who was forced to send in the 101st Airborne to escort the Nine into the building. But entry was simply the first of many trials. Breaking her silence at last and sharing her story for the first time, Carlotta Walls has written an engrossing memoir that is a testament not only to the power of a single person to make a difference but also to the sacrifices made by families and communities that found themselves a part of history.

1st Person History & a Tear-jerker I chose 5 stars for several different reasons-It's been a LONG while since I read a book written without ANY typos or grammatical errors; it made this particular history lesson real and tangible; it was heart-wrenchingly emotional. Mrs. Lanier went above and beyond exposing how the hatred of a few affected a family and an entire community. This should be required reading for ALL middle and high school students. I would recommend it to any and everyone.Walls Memoir Provides an Insider's Perspective of a Troubling Time Carlotta Walls Lanier, the author of A Mighty Long Way, is one of the Little Rock nine who helped to integrate Little Rock, Arkansas' Central High School in the late 1950s and early 1960s. This memoir was an easy read - at least as far as the writing goes. What was not easy was the idea of school segregation and the the racist behavior that Carlotta and her friends endured during their high school years. When most teenagers were busy attending football games, dating, and hanging out with their friends, Carlotta spent her days worrying about the safety of herself and her family and finding her way in an environment that she was not often welcomed in. She faced roadblocks on her road to graduation that her white peers never had to encounter, sometimes being unable to attend school due to threats made against her.Carlotta achieved her dream of graduating from Central High School along with some of the other students who helped to integrate the school. While they did achieve their goal, it was not without a price. Carlotta does not complain about the path she chose in life, but does recognize that attending high school under such stressful circumstances did affect her ability to concentrate and accomplish certain things in college.History books make mention of the Little Rock nine, and most students do know the story of Ruby Bridges, yet even having a little knowledge about this chapter in history did not give me the perspective that a person who lived it is able to. Walls did not write her memoir until later in her life, having tried to leave her infamy behind. Remembering the events she lived through was hard when she first began accepting speaking offers, but Walls persevered and continued to share her story with others. Today the Little Rock nine are a group of friends who meet and keep up with each other regularly. Their shared experience have bound them for life. Walls' first person account of this period in history is honest and interesting, and could easily be used in a high school curriculum as well as for pleasure reading. Any reader will be inspired by Walls' determination and prideHeartwrenching Story of a Courageous Woman This is a courageous story of a young girl who wanted the best education that she could get, and how her desire and determination changed the Civil Rights movement. Carlotta Walls was one of the Little Rock Nine and the first African-American to graduate from Little Rock Central High School. She had no political agenda, only the desire to learn and be accepted for who she was. While she may not be as well-known as some civil rights activists, but her place in history is as deserving as any. I would recommend this to anyone who would like to understand more about the Civil Rights movement, and what it must have been like to be an African-American in the fifties and sixties.

Clash (Academy of Unpredictable Magic Book 6) Pdf

ISBN: B07TVQ5W2W
Title: Clash (Academy of Unpredictable Magic Book 6) Pdf
Sometimes a good offense is the only defense.

We're out of options. We have no back-up. This is our fight to win or lose.

So much hangs in the balance I can barely stand to think about it. I have four gorgeous, incredible boyfriends, a sister I love with my whole heart, and real friends for the first time in my life.

I can't lose all of that.

But the only way to end this is to take on a monster more powerful than any of us.

Clash is the final book in the Academy of Unpredictable Magic series, a medium-burn reverse harem story intended for ages 18+, featuring a badass chick and the four sexy men who fall in love with her.

Love, love love!!! I've read this entire series, waiting for each book to become available. Finally being able to get this last book and finding how it ends with Elliot and her men, was worth all the waiting. I won't spoil it for those waiting to read it, but let me say you won't be disappointed!! I read instead of watch tv so I've read approximately 4000 books in the last two years. (Yes 4000) I'm not bragging, I'm more of less home bound due to a neck surgery, so almost all I do is read. So saying that believe me when I say that this is one of the best series I've had the pleasure to read. This author knows how to wrap you up and reel you in. Thank you Ms. Moss. Looking forward to reading more of your books.Awesome Really enjoyed it. A great seriesI’m so sad!!! I can’t believe it’s over!! I didn’t want it to end! This series is one of my absolute favorites!! And now I don’t know what to do with myself..... other than reread it. Which I plan on doing over and over! The growth of Elliot and the guys is amazing. I love all their back stories.... I adore all of the characters in this book. I hope in the future there are some short stories, at least, about their new adventures or holidays spent with Ashers family or an unconventional commitment ceremony of some sort.... I don’t know! I just feel like there’s so much more I want to see!
