Title: The Last Punisher Pdf A SEAL Team THREE Sniper's True Account of the Battle of Ramadi
Author: Kevin Lacz
Published Date: 2017-02-21
Page: 320

“There are few, if any, people in the world who knew Chris Kyle as well as Kevin "Dauber" Lacz. Many, like myself, knew some of Chris’s story; few, like Kevin, knew virtually all of it.  This book is about the amazing true grit of SEAL Team THREE in some of the worst days of battle in the history of the US SEAL Teams and the United States. The epitome of the SEAL attitude of “never quit” runs through Kevin’s veins and this book’s pages. A must read.” (Scott McEwen, #1 New York Times bestselling co-author of American Sniper and the nationally bestselling Sniper Elite series of novels) “One of the very best books to come out of the war in Iraq. A natural sequel to American Sniper and a powerful, rapid-fire look into the world of an operator. An instant classic that will be of enormous value to future warriors, scholars, and anyone who cares about our military and our veterans.” (Lt. Col. Dave Grossman, bestselling author of On Killing)"The Last Punisher takes you right onto the battlefield and into the heart of the action. A rare glimpse into the mind of a Navy SEAL—you won't be able to put it down." (Clint Emerson, New York Times bestselling author of 100 Deadly Skills)"[Lacz's] pungent, plain-spoken account has lots of butt-kicking and some tears, and serves to remind civilian readers again that war is another world...an unapologetic tribute to the habits and attitudes of the professional warriors of SEAL Team THREE...a late but worthy arrival to the Navy SEAL memoir genre." (City Journal)"Superb action-writing. The finest story of a SEAL team in combat: alternately violent, thoughtful, funny and raw. Always compelling, page after page. Bravo Zulu!" (Bing West, New York Times bestselling author of No True Glory: The Battle for Fallujah)“Kevin Lacz is an honest-to-God American hero. Serving with the elite Navy Seals, Kevin faced bullets and bombs to stop terrorists from coming toward us. In The Last Punisher, Kevin tells his story in a compelling and earthy way that brings the challenges of the soldier to every page. You might already love America, but you’ll love it more after reading this book." (Mike Huckabee, 44th governor of Arkansas and #1 bestselling author of God, Guns, Grits, and Gravy)"The Last Punisher is both frightening and exhilarating. It puts you right in the middle of the action, as if you're next to Kevin during the events he describes. His account provides a deeper understanding of the service of our most heroic elite fighters." (Willie Robertson, New York Times bestselling author of The Duck Commander Family) "The Last Punisher by Kevin Lacz will impact the generations living through the troubles in the Middle East in much the same way All Quiet On The Western Front did those living in the aftermath of World War I. This is an important book. Vivid in detail, cranked with action, and fueled by a love for his family, his country, and his fellow man." (Andy Andrews, New York Times bestselling author of The Traveler’s Gift and The Noticer) "A remarkable tribute to the power of teamwork and a rare honest glimpse into a brotherhood where the stakes are life and death. The Last Punisher gives the reader an essential new understanding of what our American service members have endured during the War on Terror." (John Rocker, retired Major League Baseball pitcher and director of public affairs for Save Homeless Veterans)“An American hero’s engrossing and action-packed memoir of The Battle of Ramadi…a powerful narrative into the mindset of a sniper at war…does an outstanding job of illustrating the life of a Navy SEAL.” (Don Mann, New York Times bestselling author of Inside Team Six: My Life) Kevin Lacz left college and joined the US Navy following the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. He served with SEAL Team THREE as a sniper, breacher, and medic and did two combat deployments in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He received a Bronze Star with Valor, two Navy and Marine Corps Commendation medals in addition to others for his service. Kevin served as a technical advisor and played himself in Clint Eastwood’s Oscar-nominated film American Sniper. He lives in Florida with his wife Lindsey and their two children.

“One of the very best books to come out of the war in Iraq,” (Lt. Col. Dave Grossman, bestselling author of On Killing), The Last Punisher is a gripping and intimate on-the-ground memoir from a Navy SEAL who was part of SEAL Team THREE with American Sniper Chris Kyle. Experience his deployment, from his first mission to his first kill to his eventual successful return to the United States to play himself in the Oscar-nominated film directed by Clint Eastwood and starring Bradley Cooper.

The Last Punisher is a “thoughtful, funny, and raw…always compelling” (Bing West, New York Times bestselling author of No True Glory) first-person account of the Iraq War. With wry humor and moving testimony, Kevin Lacz tells the bold story of his tour in Iraq with SEAL Team THREE, the warrior elite of the Navy. This legendary unit, known as “The Punishers,” included Chris Kyle (American Sniper), Mike Monsoor, Ryan Job, and Marc Lee. These brave men were instrumental in securing the key locations in the pivotal 2006 Battle of Ramadi.

Minute by minute, Lacz relays the edge-of-your-seat details of his team’s missions in Ramadi, offering a firsthand glimpse into the heated combat, extreme conditions, and harrowing experiences they faced every day. Through it all, Lacz and his teammates formed unbreakable bonds and never lost sight of the cause: protecting America with their fight.

“A rare glimpse into the mind of a Navy SEAL,” (Clint Emerson, New York Times bestselling author of 100 Deadly Skills) Kevin Lacz brings you onto the battlefield and relays the tough realities of war. At the same time, Lacz shares how these experiences made him a better man and how proud he is of his contributions to one of this country’s most difficult military campaigns.

The Last Punisher is the story of a SEAL and an “honest-to-God American hero” (Mike Huckabee, #1 bestselling author) who was never afraid to answer the call.

Humble and Humorous Insight Into This Elite Group of Men Everybody has already said it but I think Kevin says it best, "Teams and Sh*t" and when he says it, you just get it. I think the book is a terrific story. I felt like I learned less about SEAL/s and more about Kevin and the men he served with. Dauber was a solid operator, a good man in front of the train or the back. He did it all and it was refreshing to get a real honest "New Guy" take on being a SEAL. I enjoyed the book tremendously and seeing the hints of friendship that existed between Kevin (Dauber) and Chris Kyle (American Sniper) were very humanizing. Chris's somewhat protective nature struck Kevin enough to write about it. I think Kevin has to write another book about his second deployment and after that he needs to clean the heavy weapons "Teams and Sh*t". If Kevin wrote it I'd even be interested in a book on Marc Lee. Kevin had bonded with Marc Lee and both he and Chris spoke very highly of that man. I know that as long as men like Kevin, Marc and Chris live and breathe the borders of this great nation will be clearly defined, proudly guarded and fiercely defended. Great book Dauber! Stoked for your second effort! Come on! Do it Dauber!!!Still a 5 star book. I saw another comment that gives the AUDIO part of this book 2 stars and I have to agree. ALL OF THE AUDIO BOOKS YOU CAN GET AS COMPANIONS TO KINDLE ARE TERRIBLE. Amazon if you are serious about this service then please get the MUZAK INSPIRED readers to put some interest into the text they are reading. Please fix this otherwise TERRIBLE AUDIO-BOOK SERVICE!!!An excellent book that gives a fresh perspective on life and what it costs to have what we have in America This is another great look into a world that not a lot of people get to see. To even have a fraction of understanding of what occurred overseas is very important and it should be something that every American strives to understand further. The author explained everything very well and effectively communicated what he and his teammates went through. As a fan of the Jocko podcast I have been fortunate to hear about this deployment from the officer side so it is refreshing to hear an enlisted guy's experience within the same deployment. Additionally, some of the people Lacz mentions in the book have been interviewed on the podcast. Having heard a 2-3 hours interview with Tony on the podcast it made the book that much more enjoyable and understandable. If you are interested in understanding the cost of the luxury we have today in America, listen to the podcast and buy this book.I bought the digital copy and it was well put together and easy to read. I devoured the book in 48 hours.Pros:*It really educates you about the cost incurred to have the country we have*A fresh perspective from the enlisted sideCons:*NoneOverall: 5/5 stars (>=.5 rounds up, <.5 rounds down) => 5 starsIf you have any further questions regarding the product in my review please leave a comment below and I will get back to you as soon as possible.awesome book Best book on the teams I've read. Fast furious funny. I think this book speaks to the heart of war like few do. Great in every sense.

Title: North! Or Be Eaten (The Wingfeather Saga) Pdf
Author: Andrew Peterson
Published Date: 2009
Page: 331

Praise for North! Or Be Eaten“Peterson deserves every literary prize for this fine book. It is obvious that his musical talents have been put to good use as his use of words, plot and narrative read like a well scored film script. A very fine book, by a very fine writer and future talent. Amazing - thrilling and well worth reading again and again.”–G. P. Taylor, New York Times best-selling author of Shadowmancer and The Dopple Ganger Chronicles“Toothy cows are very dangerous. Andrew Peterson convinced me and shivers run down my spine at the very thought of meeting a toothy cow face to face. The author spills characters like Podo and Nurgabog onto the page, then weaves a tale of danger that holds the reader captive. Believe me, you will relish being held captive by this master storyteller. But be sure you don’t get caught by the Stranders. Those people just ain’t civilized.”–Donita K. Paul, author of The Vanishing Sculptor“In a genre overrun by the gory and the grim, Peterson’s bite-sized chapters taste more like a stew of Gorey (Edward) and Grimm (the Brothers). North! Or Be Eaten is a welcome feast of levity--and clearly a labor of love. Andrew Peterson has awakened my inner eight-year-old, and that is a very good thing.”–Jeffrey Overstreet, author of Auralia’s Colors and Cyndere’s Midnight“An immensely clever tale from a wonderful storyteller - filled with great values and even greater adventure!”–Phil Vischer, creator of VeggieTales “Thrills, chills, spine-tingling mystery, and lots of smiles. It’s not easy to combine heart-pounding danger with gut-busting laughs and make it work, but Peterson pulls it off. For readers who want nonstop action infused with powerful, life-changing themes, North! Or Be Eaten is a must-read.”–Wayne Thomas Batson, best-selling author of The Door Within Trilogy, Isle of Swords and Isle of Fire“Andrew Peterson is a gifted storyteller, scene painter and wordsmith who takes you on a rollicking white-water ride of adventure. Readers of all ages are sure to find North! Or Be Eaten worthy of a big mug filled with a favorite beverage and a cozy nook near a crackling fire for hours on end. Here there be tales within yarns within stories. Listen, reader, bend your ear, but keep an eye peeled lest the dreaded Fangs of Dang be near!”–R. K. Mortenson, author of Landon Snow and The Auctor’s Riddle Andrew Peterson is the author of On the Edge of the Dark Sea of Darkness, Book One in the Wingfeather Saga, and The Ballad of Matthew’s Begats. He’s also the critically-acclaimed singer-songwriter and recording artist of ten albums, including Resurrection Letters II. He and his wife, Jamie, live with their two sons and one daughter in a little house they call The Warren near Nashville, Tennessee. Janner, Tink, and Leeli Igiby thought they were normal children with normal lives and a normal past. But now they know they’re really the Lost Jewels of Anniera, heirs to a legendary kingdom across the sea, and suddenly everyone wants to kill them.
In order to survive, the Igibys must flee to the safety of the Ice Prairies, where the lizardlike Fangs of Dang cannot follow. First, however, they have to escape the monsters of Glipwood Forest,1 the thieving Stranders of the East Bend,2 and the dreaded Fork Factory.3
But even more dangerous are the jealousies and bitterness that threaten to tear them apart, and Janner and his siblings must learn the hard way that the love of a family is more important than anything else.

1. All possessing very sharp teeth.
2. Murderous scoundrels, the lot.
3. Woe!

Good, but not for wimps. This is not a wimpy book for young adults. It's robust. I marked hopeful for the mood of the book because in the end it is the predominant mood, however dark comes in a VERY close second, especially for the whole section of the book dealing with Dugtown and the fork factory. This section brought myself, an adult woman, and my husband to tears and weighed down our hearts, even though it's fictional, because the types of things described in it are very very real in our world. If you want your kids to have a faith that can face the horrors of a fallen world and not shrivel, then this book (and series) is a good tool in that effort. Just make sure you are around to talk through the themes, images and ideas that are raised in it's pages.Loving this series! I did not expect to fall so in love with this series! My husband and I wrapped up "North, or be Eaten!" and purchased the last two books of the series the next day. (Even though this is technically a children's series, it has enough action, drama, twists, and lessons to entertain adult audiences as well.)This is the second book of the Wingfeather Saga and I recommend reading the first book before this one, but I think it would still make sense if this had to be your starting point... But if possible, do start with "On the Edge of the Dark Sea of Darkness." Anyways....I suppose what makes this books for me was the characters. I wish I could meet some of them! From major characters to minor, they are well built; perfectly flawed; and even with their extremes, somehow believable. There's not the typical trio of perfect and wise main character, goofy sidekick, and a love interest. The story itself was great fun and kept my husband and I guessing. While dark at some points, or a tad scary in others (Tilling Court! Gosh!!! That was horrifying, lol!) there's nothing here that wouldn't be fine for families. The Igiby siblings, though obviously not ordinary, are still a wonderful example for children to learn from.

Title: The Last of the Stanfields Pdf

A mystery, a love story, and a search through a shadowy past. Two strangers unite in this novel of family secrets by international bestselling author Marc Levy, the most read contemporary French author in the world.

When London journalist Eleanor-Rigby Donovan receives an anonymous letter alluding to a crime committed by her deceased mother, her life is turned upside down. It points her to a bar on the Baltimore Harbor, where she finds a stranger who has received the same mysterious letter about his own mother. Together, Eleanor-Rigby and this young man, George-Harrison Collins, embark on a quest through the shadowy past of the Stanfields, a moneyed Maryland family full of unimaginable secrets. These secrets will transport them back decades, across continents, and to a mysterious crime long buried…until now.

Excellent! I see WHY the author is the most-read French author. The story spanned decades, but the characters were slowly revealed until the last twist. Not my cup of tea with the language and morals I'm not faulting the writing talent. I have no complaints about the plot or characters or readability. But I avoid cussing and bed-hopping. Not enough customer reviews were in for me to know this book would be icky with those.Strains credibility TOO FAR! I do not remember ever reviewing a book I had not finished, but this one was irredeemable.Incredibly implausible premise, but the author is supposedly the most popular author in France, and it was free, so I picked it up and persisted through 50 pages because the writing style is so engaging. There is just too much suspension of disbelief to swallow. For example, in 1980 the book claims women in Baltimore were not allowed to be writers on papers, just researchers. I am sure that was not true. For example, I knew the woman who was the Baltimore Sunpaper restaurant critic in 1975, and there were women reporters on the paper as well. And one night a bunch of friends get together and decide to start their own paper, and one of them, who is an accountant for Procter and Gamble and not even in the industry, sits down and works up their business plan including staffing and pay that evening! See why it strains my little critical senses? So far the Maryland setting does not seem too true-to-life either, and I have lived here all my life.I find the author's bio also rather implausible. Why would an author who lives in New York need a translator? And doesn't he sound like a bit too much of a polymath? I was prepared to find out the bio is also fiction, but I looked him up, and the part about his popularity is accurate! Mon dieu!
